Students presentation Şcoala Gimnazială Vetreşti-Herăstrău (30.05.2018)
13 Jun 2018

The second meeting with students within the educational program of the project took place at Şcoala Gimnazială from Vetreşti-Herăstrău village, Nistoreşti commune, for the purpose of informing about the site Şindriliţa and about conserving the biodiversity inside it.

The presentation was the opportunity for the participating students, in grades 5-8, to learn for the first time about the existence and exact location of the site Şindriliţa, despite the fact that it lies on the administrative territory of their commune and the neighboring commune (Nereju). The members of the project implementation team briefly informed the children about the activity of Ocolul Silvic Năruja, the project beneficiary and the custodian of the site, so that they could understand who protects the natural area Şindriliţa and in what way.

After being presented with the protected animal species living on the site, students were notified about the role the project plays in biodiversity conservation within the natural area. The children were encouraged by the project team to provide examples of appropriate behaviors during hiking in protected natural areas and they were suggested to forward this information to family and friends. Students stated at the end of the presentation that they want to be an example for the others by adopting a responsible behavior towards the environment and convincing their acquaintances to do the same.
